Many Greyhounds are destroyed each year, in terrible way's, once they are no longer any good to be raced. Some are retired as young as 3-4 years of age. They make wonderful, docile pets. please if you can give one a home, check this out (In the UK)

About us
Castledon Greyhound Rescue is run by myself (Jodie) & Sandra. The rescue has been up and running for approx 8 years now.
We decided to set up a Greyhound Rescue after working in a racing kennels. This made us realise just how great a need there was for more Greyhound Rescue organisations for the dogs after their racing days were over. Often Greyhounds retire from the track at just 2 years of age or younger, due to an injury that stops them reaching full speed. Some never reach the track, because they are either too slow to make the grade or they just don't want to chase. Even a dog who has a full racing career will retire at around 4 - 5 years of age.
So many Greyhounds are discarded after their racing career is finished. We knew their was this desperate need for more rehoming centres & we wanted to help this lovely, docile, undemanding breed.
So this is why Castledon Greyhound Rescue kennels was formed....
