Hi I wanted to share my new addition to my family with you!
I already have two ferrets Pickles and Squiggle and I rescued one today!
I wonder can you help me decide on a name??
I am so stuck!!
I thought of Kieba said like this Key-ba but I dont know...then I liked Bradley...erm dunno why!?!?!?
As you can see I need ideas when you get a sec!
He is in a small cage at the mo as I want to keep and eye on him and suss him out before I mix him with the others, also as he has just been castrated this cage is safer!
I will add a pic of the cage we made....CRAPPY but we tried it is four foot by three foot and cheaper to make one!
Anyways love to all! xxx
SORRY PHOTOS GONE PHOTO BUCKET WENT WEIRD!

They are eventually looking very comfortable in their new home ...they are without worries and seems to be like they don't care about what's going on around them...but sure they are cute... _________________

Wow your babies are so amazing, I love albino's my squiggle was my first ferret, Bradley was dumped and my vets rang me to ask if I wanted him I couldnt say no They are both a very much loved part of the family.
At last I have got them out of nipping and we have so much fun together, How old are yours? they look quite young in the first picture, Bless.
Do you keep them inside? that reminds me exercise time for mine!
Take care xx _________________ Thank you for joining us. Please remember we are not doctors or trained in anyway, but we are here as we want to help. We do not judge and we are here for you anytime.

Thanks. My boy is almost two and my girl will be a year in Febuary. Riley looks small in the first pic but he is actually a big boy. That pic was taken in the summer. He gets really fat in the winter. Mika is a tiny thing but she puts Riley in his place. She pounces on him and runs. he cant catch her unless he sneaks up on her . They are the best animals I have ever had. I keep them in the house right in the family room with the rest of the family. They only get put in thier cage when we leave or at night. You said some one dumped one of your little ones? that is soo cruel lucky for him you were there.I got my first one for my son when he was 15 he wanted one so bad. I really didnt want one because everyone says they stink and they bite. Thats so far from the truth. They dont stink at all if you know what to feed them and you keep thier cage cleaned. My eat only chicken based food no fish plus they get a small dish of gerber (babyfood)chicken 2 x a day. I also put bio-oder in thier water. Anyways you know how kids are they say they will take care of them then they dont. Needless to say I fell in love with my Riley so then I had to buy him a squeak toy and we call her mika. My husband was so mad when I bought him for my son and now he is crazy over the weasles.Sorry so long but being a ferret owner Im sure you understand I could go on and on.

Hi Micky. Sorry for the delay, don't apologise feel free to write as much as you like I love to read about other peoples little ferrets I dont have any family members who have or like ferrets so I have to talk to myself!!!
Your babies are so cute, I wish I could let mine roam free in the living room but I have four dogs so it wouldn't really be safe, Well in saying that my little girl Rosie has always loved the ferrets, she has played with squiggle since he was a baby and she learnt not to bark as it frightens him and she is so gentle with him.
I did have a ferret named Pickles but sadly he used to bite me so hard It wasn't the way my other boys bite he was very aggressive and I couldn't understand it as my squiggle is so soft, he did bite at first but never like that, it got to the stage where I couldn't really go near Pickles and that was unfair on him, In the end I gave him to a lovely lady in a town near me who has lots of ferrets and she uses him for hunting. I hear from her now and then and he is doing great.
I would never have done what someone did to my Bradley, The vet rung and said some people turned up with him who apparently found him on the road then left a false phone number so I feel that they just didnt want him anymore.
My vet rung and explained but I couldn't afford a castration as I hadn't long ago paid for Squiggle and Pickles to be done, in the end they did it for free and he came to live with me.
I let them out for a few hours aday and we have so much fun! Do you have any good game ideas to share?
Mine were having fun in a tall cardboard box the other day! going in then trying to jump out, I love to hear them squeak with happiness and jump around.
ANYWAY ILL SHUT UP! you were right once I start on the ferret subject I cant stop!
I must just say though it isn't true, as you said they do not smell if you know how to look after/feed them right, and they don't bite either, it was a rare case with pickles, once the baby stage has passed and they know they cannot get away with it they are fine and I love mine to bits!
Love to yours! Happy Xmas xxx _________________ Thank you for joining us. Please remember we are not doctors or trained in anyway, but we are here as we want to help. We do not judge and we are here for you anytime.

yes i have lots of games my ferrets love to be pulled around on a blanket. also I made a dig box for them just get a storage tub cut a whole in the side of it and fill it with white rice it has to be white rice it cant be minute rice. they love that. Also if you lay a pair of jeans on the floor or a sweat shirt they like to crawl through it. There is a place where you can go its the ferret forum them people on there know everything you need to know about ferrets I have learned so much from there. We also have dogs they run with the ferrets they are jack russells and it surprises alot of people because they are bread to hunt rodents and rabbits but they all get along. Well thats all for now Merry Christimas. _________________ God Only Gives You What You Can Handle |

WOW Micky I LOVE YOUR CAGE cover WOW It looks so great and the idea you had on the doors is just perfect! Do you make bedding too? do you have a website? Oh I dream of having all the things in my cage I see on the ferret forum, Mine always seems so empty.
I WISH I had a ferret Nation! The one I have is a Super Pet Deluxe Multi Storey ferret home and it is VERY far from deluxe! It is so awful, I nightmare to clean as I have to lift all the shelves up to get to another level and the two side doors do not open (never have) and the silly clip things keep snapping off the side.
Sorry to moan such a shame as I saved hard for it. It is very hard to find ferret nation ones in the UK Are you in the UK? I forgot sorry.
Your babies are beautiful and the cage looks really lovely in your room. I would love those covers in Pink!!! Do they scratch the insides of the cover? can imagine my tinkers would!
Well hope to hear from you soon. I put a few posts on the ferret forum yesterday, I have the same name on there too!
Hope we get busy in here soon feeling lonely!
Take care and love to your babies xxx
OH one last thing! Id love to see my kids play in the snow! Do they try to climb out of the pen in the picture? thats what I worry about and haven't brought one yet. REALLY want to try to make a dig box...will get round to it at some point! xxx _________________ Thank you for joining us. Hi Kaytee,
yes I make all my bedding. Im not that great with a sewing
machine yet so my stuff Is by no means perfect. I dont sell my stuff I just make it for fun. You should post a picture of your cage maybe I can give you some advice. Im pretty good at simplifying things. The cage I had before my ferret nation was pretty junky. I have some old bedding and stuff from that cage that I would give you but Im from the U.S.A. I will look into the cost of sending it. Have you looked into buying a FN online? As far as the cover I made I kind of just made it up as I went along. My babies dont scratch the cloth. They are not in their cage that much.but... it turned out pretty good for a beginner. I just got my sewing machine about a year ago and I absolutly love it. I see you go to the ferret forum now. How do you like it? You can find out anything you need to know on there. Oh yeah and as far as the cage for out side. They havent gotten out of it yet. but I would never leave them by their selves. That was the biggest waste of money for me. Im too worried they will dig their way out so I hardly ever use it. I have a pattio right outside of my back door. This summer Im going to make it so they cant get out. Thats going to be their new playpen. Oh when you do make their dig box use one of those plastic storage boxes and cut a hole in the lid. Trust me they will absolutly love it. Anyways enough about me. How are your fuzzies. You should post some more pictures. And again try to post some pictures of your cage..I guess thats all for now. Hope to hear from you soon

Hi Micky, SO nice to hear from you! I have got a ferret nation now I complained to the company about my old one, it was a nightmare and in the end the front panel fell off and I was so upset after all it was only less then a year old, I was pleased as they sent me a replacement after they saw how mine had ended up and I sold that on and borrowed some money to get a ferret nation a little confusing but I am SO SO HAPPY with the new cage!
The only problem I have with it is the fact that the base is so low so there is mess everywhere all the time but that is nothing compared to the troubles I had with my last one!
THANK you for being so kind and thinking of me by saying you would look at postage. I did look at some things on eBay and the people wanted $25 to post and I thought that was quite a lot It is quite empty at the moment, the little tinkers are forever scratching the bottom and it is quite loud so I hope to cover it some day as not only will it look better but it will be softer for them as they do not use their ramps and they just jump down!
I know what you mean, it snowed here the other day I would have loved my boys to have seen it, I only have one harness right now and I then started worrying they may get cold, (I am daft) you should have seen my dogs in the snow with their tops and jackets on in the snow they were all puffed out!
Hope you and the babies are well? I will add some photos of my cage, yours is so lovely you did a GREAT job with the covers, and your little babies are perfect too!
Take care and hope to hear from you soon! xxx
Oh and excuse the silly pillow I used a human one and sewed the case on so they wouldnt get their nails caught in it anywhere, I got the superpet bag which I now have taken out after squiggle had a REALLY bad experience with it his nails got caught in the fleecy bit and he was hanging and got in such a state Oh and never invest in one of those cars either! I should have steered clear of super pet things after my nightmare with the cage...oh well xxx

Thats great!!! Your going to absolutly love this cage. For the floors in the cage I bought some fleece stuff or I think its suppose to be fake lambs fur. i cut it to fit and just layed it in there. I will add some pictures. I havent gotten the chance to check on postage yet but I will this week. Well congrats on your new cage I hope you like it much better than your last one.
