Hi Sharp93,
Sorry to hear you are worrying about your weight,i know how that feels.
Well before we can give any advice really hun, we need to know roughly how tall you are, and if you are Male or female?
Only as a Male you will tend to weigh more than us females, because you have heavier bones! Also, to calculate the 'correct' weight, you have to go by your height too. only someone at 200lbs at 5ft tall, would be more over weight than someone who is 200lbs at 6ft tall.
If you can give us some more info, we will help all we can
I would imagine though at 13, your weight is just fine...because you still have a lot of growing to do.We all go through what we call here a 'puppy fat' stage...where we tend to look back at photos of when we were younger, and realise how chubby we were, how we had 'Puppy fat'...called that because, it's something you grow out of (like a pup growing to an adult dog)
You will find a lot of weight you have when younger, usually you tend to lose as you grow.Sadly, now at my age of 3, my growing years are done!LOL
Hope we can help you, to at least feel better.
Hugs,

Hi Sharp93,
Mmm, that helps a bit more!!
Well I have searched on the web, some charts state you should be between 121 to 151 lbs, others say different. That's the thing with the internet, you will find many different things/answers & it gets so confusing. I found the following on one website :
There are a lot of different ways to think about a person's ideal body weight. Some people would consider it to be the weight that was directly proportional to a person's height, so that you wouldn't have people who are short and fat or tall and thin...
A 'better' way to think about a person's ideal body weight is as what is a 'healthy' weight for their age and height using their body mass index.
Please keep in mind that many factors go into determining if someone is 'healthy' and that this is just one tool. Talk to your Pediatrician if you have concerns about your child's weight.
A 13 year old (male) child who is 175 pounds and is 5 feet and 5 inches tall has a body mass index of 29.2, which is over the 95th percentile, and would indicate that your child is overweight.
Your child's ideal body weight would be at a BMI at the 85th percentile or below, and so would be about 131 pounds.
That doesn't necessarily mean that your child has to lose 44 pounds. As he gets older and taller, he may thin out some and therefore just need to stop gaining weight, gain weight more slowly or lose some of that weight. Talk to your Pediatrician for more help interpreting these results.
But me personally, I think there is too much worrying about weight these days. Ok, so i'm not saying eat 50 burgers everyday & to hell with it. But just be sensible in what you eat, still have treats, as anything in moderation is ok. I am sure your weight will change as you get older, as you are still growing. So if I were you, I would just carry on the way I was, be sensible, and remember your body is still going through many changes right now.
Are you happy with the way you are?If you are, then that is the main thing.
Weight is a very touchy subject...do you say someone is overweight, and then cause them to have food issues? Do you say nothing, and change the subject when weight is mentioned? It all becomes very difficult, as many of us have problems & many issues with our weight. I hope nothing I have said made you feel that way, please let me know if I have, or if i can do anything else to help.
I'm not medically trained in anyway, and can only advise you the best I can, it doesn't mean to say what i say is right.
Please remember we are here to listen

I thought BMI was applicable only for those 17 and older.... you should be concerned about overweight issues that young.. you will grow taller with age and that weight will become balanced.... I am older and i've tried diet pills over diet pills, exercising and all but nothing worked for me... i'm now on xenical, i dunno if it's any good but you're far too young for that.. stop worrying about it... do some sports... play games like basketball, football..
