Ok, just a typical female question..I have always battled with how i look.
I think i have put on weight since that photo was took, and i just about hate myself right now...

so i would like to hear your opinions...does it matter.
girls, does it put you off if a boyfriend is bigger than average?

Men, does it put you off if the woman is more curvy than stick thin?

This might help a few people out there, so i would be interested to know what your opinions are.
Only so many stick thin woman are on the tv, it makes you feel you should be that way. So many beautiful women seem to be in America, i wouldn't last a day there, i'd be afraid to go out!

So does size matter? Or is it the person inside?

Right well I think it is the person inside that counts, true beauty comes from within, Like whats the point in going out with someone coz you think they look perfect and they are a right nasty person on the inside and treat you like dirt? coz sometimes it works like that!

I am not a size 8 myself and me and my partner have put on a bit of weight since we met ( I blame his amazing cooking) yet I do not see him differently and I do not love him any less which I am sure its the same with him, He says he is still attracted to me and though I do not feel beautiful I have to tell myself if he is happy thats the main thing!

As for these women on TV, Well unfortunately half of them have eating problems and I bet the rest are not happy with the way they look, Sadly the media does not help, It uses skinny people for models and adverts and magazines and sends out the total wrong messages to young girls and boys who see them (and adults).

Half the photos you see are fake, Women who have been air brushed and the pictures fixed to remove anything that doesn't look perfect.
Also it is amazing what the right make up artist can do! If you look at mags that show these stars caught on camera without their make up you would be amazed by how different they look, In my opinion better more natural, more REAL.

And there are loads of men out there that actually love really big women, Big IS beautiful (I know I should listen to myself as I stress too) But I do realise now That It is better to have healthy curves then be stick thin, poorly and looking like the life has been sucked out of you.

I am not saying thin people are awful Some people cannot put weight on and might hate their body as they want to be bigger.
I think the truth is no-one is ever truly happy with the way they look there will always be something we want to change.
But others can see the real us instead of our clouded visions we have.
I hope in time we can somehow believe them.

If they were a jerk, no. I know this totally nice kid (we are just friends) who is chunky, I guess. In my school it doesnt really matter for guys, most of the bigger guys are the class clowns. For girls it sets them back a little, but then they just get right back up. the two nicest girls I know are chubby, and the skinniest girls are total pricks so no one likes them.
What about height? I'm 5'5 and as tall or taller than most of the guys in my grade.

well, size doesn't really bother me. My boyfriend is kinda above average, but it doesn't bother me much. Cause it's what's on the inside that counts

Being onest, I suppose i would want him thinner, but no matter what he is i'll still love him

so i voted 'Yes, i could be with someone who is bigger than average.'

What is inside should count, I agree, but I think that in reality the opposite happens. Statistics say that for a woman to be successful she needs to be tall and slim, I am short and need to lose a couple of stones in weight and feel very bad about it

but I stopped smoking and just can't seem to slim down.

Men too get better paid jobs if they are good looking and slim.
